And Other Important Stuff
This page will contain all the important stuff that keeps Troop 53 running like a well-oiled machine. Well.... at least the squeeks will be minimized. Also look here for the latest updates to the Troop 53 website.
The information on this page is in reverse chronological order; the latest, or most recent, items are at the top of the page. See the Old News page for anything more than about 2 months old.
- 5/10/10 — Camp Program Signup Form now available
- Program signup is now live! Please read all the available information in the Summer Camp pages before filling out the form.
- 4/27/10 — Permission forms available
- Permission/registration forms for our next campout at Pere Marquette State Park, May 14-16, are now available. Please note new location of the forms and read about the new encrypted forms!
- 4/1/10 — Orienteering Courses are live!
- Troop 53 has been working for over a year on Orienteering Courses at Camps Joy and Vandeventer. They are now ready for prime-time! Find out more and download all the information about the courses at both camps.
- 2/20/10 — Congratulations!
- It's banquet time in St. Clair District and Lewis & Clark Council. Troop 53 Scouters have once again been recognized for all their hard work and dedication to Scouting. At last night's District Recognition Dinner Frank Kurz was awarded the Outstanding Unit Scouter of Troop 53 and David Devine was awarded the District Award of Merit. Both of these gentlemen work very hard to help provide a quality program for Scouts not just in Troop 53, but also in other units across our district and council.
Additionally, Craig Brethauer has been selected as a Silver Beaver recipient this year. Craig gives countless volunteer hours on construction projects at our council camps, runs camporee events, provides advisership in the Order of the Arrow, and more, as well as helping provide a quality program to Troop 53. He will be presented this outstanding award at the council dinner March 20.
- 2/17/10 — Summer Camp Oh-Ten information is now available!
- All the information that's currently available from the council, condensed to what I hope is understandable, is now available. Please note that some things can and will change over the next couple of months, so don't get mad if something you see here now disappears in 3 weeks. Start planning now for Summer Camp 2010!
