Troop 53 Leadership Smart Books Members' Information: ![]() |
We Need You!With new Scouts, we expect to gain new leaders as well. Parent volunteers are a must in order to support the new Scouts. There are myriad opportunities to serve — Troop Committee, Assistant Scoutmaster, Boards of Review, providing transportation, Merit Badge counselor, and many more. But you need not decide right away what you want to do. In fact we encourage you to just attend meetings and events for a couple of months to figure out where you might fit in best. No experience is necessary! There are Council and District training opportunities throughout the year; see our calendar for known training sessions and dates. Some training courses are even offered online. Additionally, our OTJ training in Troop 53 is probably among the best. With the experience of our current adult leaders there is probably someone who has "been there, done that" and will be more than happy to provide guidance and assistance. If you were involved as a leader in your son's Cub Scout Pack we encourage you to continue your registration with us. It helps provide some continuity to new Scouts when their leaders join with them. So, fill out an Adult Leader application, pay your registration fee and welcome aboard! |
